Friday Finals

To start things off this week had been pretty good until yesterday. I seem to have broken my pinky toe on my left foot. It hurts so badly. I am sitting typing to you with an ice pack on my blue and purple toe. Thank goodness it is summer and I can get away with wearing flip flops everywhere; however, it is a challenge with a very active two year old. With all of his toys lying around the floor has made for an exciting time trying to navigate through the house without hitting my toe on anything.

CVS Shopping

CVS did not go as planned at all. I didn’t have enough items to qualify for my $5/$25 so I went back to get a couple of things and I still didn’t have enough after check out. Since I was in pain from my toe, I just checked out and left. This has left me a little over budget this week.

Friday Finals

I had a fantastic shopping week. I found many deals I am going to share with you today. I hope you will LINK up any shopping trips you had this week. I look forward to hearing from all of you.

It is still hot here. Although I love shopping, I am not enjoying getting out in this heat. Here are the stores I went to this week and here is how I did.

Walmart would not let me combine 2 V8 Fruit juice coupons and the V8 tea FREE twice. I had enough coupons to have 4 juices and 2 teas for free, but they would not honor it. So that is why it came out the way it did below.

Walmart 07/29/11

(3) V8 Fruit Fusion Juices $2.98 - 3 $1.50/1 V8 Juice Not sure when this came out

            -Final $0.48 each

I spent $19.83 and saved $9.48 at Walmart on $29.31 retail. The diapers will last me for two weeks or longer.

Instead of going to CVS on Sunday like everyone else, I am waiting to go on Thursday or Friday. I normally get a coupon emailed to me for $4 off $20.00 or more or $5 off $25.00. Also my CVS doesn’t stock all the items on Sunday they hold back. If I go after Wed. that is when the truck comes they will usually replenish their stock. This is also easier to shop with not as many people in there.

CVS Saturday 07/30/11

(1) Kotex 18 ct Pads $3.49 - $2.00 ECBs printed
(4) Playtex Sport 18ct $5.29 - $10.00 ECBs printed, Spend $20.00 get $10.00 ECB

Sprouts is where I get my produce and buy things found in bulk bins that do not have any packaging. This is a great way to save not only money, but also on packaging. I shop what is one sale in the bulk bins. I am still waiting for the multigrain pancake mix to go on sale. Yum.

Friday Finals

It has been a while since I have posted. My computer would not let me log on yesterday. I called my awesome brother and he was able to log in remotely and fix my computer. Not only did he fix it, but it is running faster and better than before. Needless to say it took all day and I didn’t get a chance to post. If you need your computer fixed contact PC Doc. He is awesome.

Thanks to my new recent followers. I have tried to follow back, but the GFC is not working when I visit your page. I will keep trying to see if I can join. Thanks so much for joining my site.

Today is Friday Finals. I missed last week, since I was on vacation. I am back this week to share what I purchased. Kroger is where I did most of my shopping this week. I spent $31.02 and saved $45.60 on $76.62 worth of groceries retail. This is the best deal I have gotten for Chef. I didn’t see any matchups on any site for this deal. Normally the Whole Wheat is not included in the sale. I just purchased some at Tom Thumb not too long ago. This was a better deal and I had my coupon binder with me to know I had coupons for this product. I was able to get a much better deal. I am starting to buy healthier options buy purchasing whole wheat. The Banquet chicken nuggets were not listed on any sites either. I purchased the Cheetos for my daughter. She was not very cooperative while shopping so I used these to bribe her a little. I noticed the Cheetos rang first right before the Tostitos and the Kroger eQ printed on the receipt right after. I am wondering if I could have just purchased Cheetos and Tostitos.

CVS shopping – My Awesome diaper deal

CVS Shopping

We have had a fun start to summer so far. We have gone  swimming in the pool in the afternoon. Since my husband’s laptop died on Friday, he decided to work from home on Monday. It was fun having him there another day. He was multitasking with work and things that needed to get done around the house.

I did a little shopping at CVS on Sunday. I decided to pick up the battery toothbrushes on sale. My daughter really wanted another one, since hers broke several months ago. When I got to the store they were all sold out. I was bummed. I saw the manager I think he recognized me, since I come in there a lot. He said they were cleaned out at midnight on Sunday. Then he said I could go to another CVS way across town to get one. I then asked when would they get another shipment in. He mentioned Wednesday. I said I would come back then. I told him how I wanted to get one for my daughter and he scanned the code on the rack and said he might have one in the back. He went to get one and then asked me if I wanted another. I said I could give one to my step son. I think he had a lot more in the back and they only put so much out for the Sunday rush. I will have to keep that in mind for next week.

My big goal with CVS is to get things we really need and grow my ECB’s. I could have had less OOP, but I really would like my ECB’s to grow for things I want, but may not need. I try to spend no more than $5.00 a week at CVS. This week I purchased milk at CVS cheaper than I can get it at the store. Milk is already in my budget.

So here is how I did this week:

Transaction #1: Sunday

(1) Milk $3.19
(1) Pulsar Tooth Brush $6.00

Coupon $3.00 – PG 06/05/11
Used $3.00 ECB – Previous week

(1) Lamisil Cream $9.99

Coupon $3/1
Used $3.00 ECB – Previous Transaction
Used $1.00 ECB –Previous Transaction

OOP $2.99

Received $5.00 ECB

In total I spent $7.37 and have $5.00 ECB’s for next week. With my next transaction I will get a $1.00 ECB for my bag tag. I have the Zyrtec Coupon for free Zyrtec next week. If they have it in stock to get $5.99 in ECB FREE. This will be a complete money maker. If all goes right I will have $11.99 in ECB next week stocked up. It has taken much restraint to get here. I hope to keep up the savings and keep it rolling. Let’s see how high I can make it go. I heard one person had $100.00 in ECBs. I would like to be able to go in and do all my shopping in one transaction and walk away with the same amount or more in ECBs.

Finals Friday will be tomorrow to share your deals for the week. Come back to link UP!

CVS Shopping

I did a lot of shopping today. Little face was ready to go this morning. I try to leave first thing in the morning when I drop my daughter off for school. Since we are out, we might as well do some shopping. I will post my other trips later this week.

It was a lot of fun. I went to CVS today. I haven’t been going there since I normally spend around $10.00 on items and I wasn’t really building my ECBs like I wanted. So I took a break for a couple of weeks and I am trying to buy things I really need or get things for free and build my ECB’s too. That means stopping when I have ECB’s in hand and not spending those on another transaction. CVS had Listerine and I have been waiting to buy some with an ECB incentive. I am glad they had one this week.

Here is how I did:

CVS Shopping and Kroger Shopping

I went to three stores yesterday early trying to beat the rain. I nearly made it, except I left the Pullups in the cart and didn't realize until I got home. I had to get back in my car and drive all the way back to the store. Thank goodness they were still in the cart where I left them. I was going to be a little ticked if I just paid $15.00 for Pullups and didn't have any to show for it.

I really only needed diapers yesterday but tried to squeeze in two other stores, since they were almost on the same block. First I headed to Kohl's and purchased some much needed shorts. I used a $10.00 off coupon my husband got when he bought a new swimsuit and sandals for a company "Team Building" event he was going to. I paid $6.48 with tax and saved $26.01.

I then headed to CVS to get the Kraft Mayo 2 for $4.00. I purchased

(1) 30oz regular Mayo $2.00
(1) 22oz Miracle whip $2.00

$1/2 Kraft Mayo
$1 ECB

Paid $2.00

This is a great deal, since this will last me probably all year. I like Mayo on my sandwiches and Miracle Whip with Tuna fish. It just tastes better that way. Before I would purchase Mayo at the dollar store for $1.00 for around 12-16oz. I just got four times as much for the same price.

Last I headed to Kroger. I wanted to purchase the Huggies deal where you purchase $15.00 and get $3.00 catalina ONYO. This will help stay within the $50.00 budget for next week. I am taking the $15.00 out of next weeks budget, since I purchased diapers twice this week and this would put me way over.

(2) Huggies Pullups $8.99 - $2/1 Printable Q, $1.50 Blinkie Q found at Tom Thumb
          - Final $7.24 each + $3.00 ONYO coupon

I also got a $2.00 off General Mills catalina for next time too. Also a $3.00 off Centrum Silver printed. I will probably not use that one. I now have $5.00 extra for next weeks shopping. It was worth me getting out on a rainy day. So if you count the free money I received the diapers were $4.74 each. I don't like to count my free money until I spend it.

Happy shopping. Link up on my Friday post below! I would love to see how you did this week.

CVS Shopping

Apparently little face did not want to go shopping today. So I had to try to make it fun. I brought new toys this time hoping this would help change up the shopping. Needless to say this was a short shopping trip at CVS. I just picked up a few items and we checked out. I could have come out cheaper out of pocket, but I really did not feel like breaking up the transactions. I have more to spend next time I visit.

CVS Shopping

Yesterday I needed coffee. The thunderstorms rolled in at 3:00 am in the morning. Which normally would just wake up the average person, but... we purchased a weather radio several years ago that makes a louder beeping noise than an alarm clock when it goes off. You can absolutely forget about going right back to sleep after that. It scares you have to death when you hear that sound and I sit up in bed to hear what it has to say. Fearing the worst, praying for the best. I kept getting up checking outside to see what size hail we were getting. Pea, marble, golf ball, quarter….. it depends on if you are using the money scale or the ball scale. It is not official which one to use.

We had a very busy Sunday needless to say. We went to church, then Brownies after that and a pizza birthday party after that. Even though I was super busy I managed to sneak in some CVS shopping between events. I took little miss with me to show her how I do this CVS shopping thing. She was very excited to see mommy in action. Also I saw two people there trying to decide what kind of toothpaste to by. I decided this is a learning opportunity and showed them if they bought the same brand, but the one over on the other shelf they could get money back through ECB’s and buy something else. And I showed them a few more items they may want to pick up that were on sale also.

Milk was on sale this week at CVS. I am so excited about this since I have a coupon for the brand of milk they sell at CVS. So this makes it as much as it is in the store. I didn’t have a plan, since I was just going in between events. My goal was try to get the milk for free or close to free.

CVS Shopping

CVS Shopping

I was excited to receive our Free Friday paper again this week. This week was lucky since it had 3 Smart Source inserts. However, the paper doesn’t always include all the ads. There was no CVS add in the paper for me to plan my Sunday shopping trip. So I went to Simply CVS for the weekly sales flyer. She always has it posted early.

There wasn’t a lot I wanted at CVS this week. I went there without a plan in mind and I brought extra coupons to see what I could work out. I was excited I had $6.99 in ECB’s to spend from last week. Shopping was more difficult, since they had not put up the sales tags yet. I had to take the sales flyer with me and go to the scanner to see if some of the items qualified.

CVS Shopping

Big name change today! Thanks to my husband who pointed out the obvious to me. I always compare how many pounds of food I can get to the cost of the item. This week I bought almost a pound of pasta for $0.19. I think that is a pretty good deal to get a pound of food for $0.19.

I went to CVS on Sunday with only a $1.00 ECB. Here are my results:
