Kroger Shopping

I took little miss to school and decided to try to snag some of those boxed Green Giant spinach at Kroger today. This will be my third time to go. If they didn’t have them I was going to get a rain check. We eat spinach all the time. I make spinach dip and I puree it and put it in other food dishes so the kids don’t know they are eating it. I also will make smoothies for my husband and me using spinach and cucumber. If you want to lose weight these shakes are great and you can’t taste the green stuff. They are packed with nutrients and very little calories, but they fill you up.

I also found some coupons for Birds Eye vegetables that I didn’t know I had until I saw it on another blog for a different store. I have decided when I get coupon books from other stores I am going to cut them up and put them in my coupon book. I could have used these last week, but I forgot about them. Instead of 33% off I could have made them 50% off. I am still learning and still making mistakes, but also I am getting better.

Here is how I did:

(6) Green Giant Frozen Spinach $1.00 – 2 $0.60/3 eQ Kroger Green Giant Boxed Veggies
            -Final $0.80 each
(6) Birdseye SteamFresh Frozen Veggies – 3 $1.00/2 Tom Thumb Frozen Coupon Book
            -Final $0.50 each
(1) Kroger sour cream $1.54 -  On sale
            -Final $1.25
(1) Blue Bell Ice Cream - $6.79 – On Sale
            -Final $3.77
(1) Bisquick 20oz $2.29 - $0.50/1 20oz doubled any size Bisquick SS 04/03
            -Final $1.29

I forgot to compare the price on the Bisquick before I left. I was hoping it would be cheaper, since the $0.50 coupon would be doubled. It was not. I can get the 40oz at Wal-Mart using the $0.50 coupon and get a box for 2.00.  The price for the Bisquick is cheaper at Wal-Mart.

Something I noticed today on my receipt today. Normally the eQ prints on the receipt after the product is rang up. I did notice that BOTH my eQ’s were right after my first 3 Green Giant Veggies. I am wondering if they stacked. I will have to try this again another time.

Over all I spent $14.11 and saved $19.79 on this shopping trip. I couldn’t print the $1.00 Blue Bell coupon or I could have saved more than 60% this trip. Oh well. I will do some more shopping tomorrow with the new sale hits.

Let me know how you did. Check back on Friday to Link UP! I enjoying reading everyone else’s posts and savings.

Happy Shopping!
